I dreamed of living in a factory

It all started with a dream...

There are little girls who dream of a castle or a tree house, of adventures on horseback or of magical powers. I dreamed of machines and factories.

Those that I observed, fascinated, in the wake of my parents. The magic for me was their harmony, their power, their regularity.

That feeling of accomplishment at every step.
That of the perfect, symmetrical gesture, punctuated by a familiar, reassuring purr, always repeated, always effective.

Each visit was a spectacle, the guarantee of seeing the ritual begin again and the magic happen. So much so that I didn't want to leave.

There are images that childhood imprints on you and which never leave you.

Kingdoms you will always dream of ruling over.

The word “factory” will never evoke for me a dull, forbidding, hostile building. But quite the opposite.

A place of life and creation.
A place where one can be amazed.
A place whose doors can be opened.

I founded D-LAB dreaming of this place. Twelve years later, here I am. It exists.

Each cable, each stone, each tool brought me closer to this organic and original well-being.

I didn't follow any budget or guidelines.
I pushed all the sliders.
I rhymed words that don’t rhyme together.

I built a factory like a waking dream, putting magic back at the center. And childhood emotions
